In a final that was unusually difficult to predict beforehand, Hokkaido Jiel, with Franck Nivard at the reins, was a big surprise. For those who had bet on the horse before the race, the victory paid out about 37 times the stake. This was veteran driver Nivard's sixth win in the Prix d'Amérique.
Four Swedish horses participated. The best of them was Epic Kronos, trained by Daniel Redén, who finished third.
Björn Goop, who has won the trotting classic on three occasions, came sixth with Immortal Doc.
Daniel Redén's second horse in the field, Francesco Zet, and Bullet the Bluesky, trained and driven by Daniel Wäjersten, were a bit behind the leaders.
