Thus, Donald Trump's government gets it right in the question, at least for the time being.
The Supreme Court's decision, which comes after an appeal by the Ministry of Justice, affects 16,000 federal employees who are now entitled to paid leave.
The affected authorities are the departments of veterans' affairs, finance, home affairs, agriculture, defense, and energy.
According to the Supreme Court, the organizations that sued the government for mass dismissals did not have legal grounds to sue the state, and thus the previous verdict is annulled.
Tuesday's decision is not the final word in the matter, and does not affect a parallel decision in Maryland, where a federal judge has stopped the dismissals. That decision applies to 19 states and in Washington DC.
The Supreme Court's decision does not apply to all the other thousands who have been dismissed from federal authorities following government decisions, a total of over 24,000 people.
