The decision at Stamford Bridge took a long time. In the 93rd minute, Sunderland quickly turned the game around and the counterattack was finished with Chemsdine Talbi placing 2–1 at the far post.
Sunderland stands at 17 points after nine matches after the win, with only Arsenal ahead of them in the table.
The London visit started poorly, however, when Alejandro Garnacho gave Chelsea the lead already in the fourth minute. Wilson Isidor equalized in the middle of the first half and then substitute Talbi fixed the three points.
Newcastle also decided late at home against Fulham, when Bruno Guimarães shot 2–1 in the 90th minute.
Directly after the goal, 18-year-old Swede Jonah Kusi Asare, on loan from Bayern Munich, was allowed to jump in to Fulham and make his Premier League debut.
In Newcastle, Anthony Elanga was substituted in with a quarter left, while Emil Krafth had to sit on the bench for the entire match.
