The President's palace in Sudan has been shelled by paramilitary RSF, according to a military source.

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are reported to have used "long-distance artillery" fired from south of Khartum's twin city Omdurman. There are no reports of injuries.

A similar attack occurred on Saturday against the army's headquarters.

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been at war with the military since April 2023. A couple of weeks ago, the military drove RSF out of the capital Khartum and the presidential palace.

According to the UN, at least 542 civilians have been killed in the state of North Darfur over the past three weeks, but they warn that the actual death toll is "much higher".

The area has recently been affected by clashes, including the city of al-Fashir, which is the last major city in greater Darfur not under RSF's control.
