The winds have felled several trees around the city. In Vasaparken, a large tree is said to have fallen and one person has been seriously injured, according to the police.
We received a report from a doctor who was on site in Vasaparken about an injured person, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson for the police.
At the same time, public transport has been affected in several places in Stockholm. It is reportedly due to both power outages and disruptions caused by fallen trees, writes Aftonbladet. According to Ellevio, over 7,000 unplanned power outages have occurred in the city.
The gusty winds have also led to glass panels coming loose from several buildings and falling to the ground near the Central Station in Stockholm. No one is said to have been injured, but the glass panels have caused damage to parked cars. The police have also cordoned off an area in Sundbyberg where a window came loose and fell to the ground.
Furthermore, SMHI has issued yellow warnings for gale-force winds over almost the entire Baltic Sea and off the west coast. The warnings in the Baltic Sea also apply until Friday.
Persistent rain that can bring large amounts of rainfall is also expected in Hälsingland and the northern parts of Dalarna and Värmland.
