The woman was arrested last week as a reasonable suspect for four counts of aggravated assault. The prosecutor believes she should be re-arrested, but instead as a probable suspect for four counts of attempted murder.
"The investigative measures that have been taken have strengthened my view that the acts are to be considered attempted murder. I also believe that the suspicions have been strengthened," says Chamber Prosecutor Emma Häggström according to a press release.
The woman, who is herself an employee at the hospital, denies any wrongdoing. She must either be remanded in custody or released on bail on Monday.
A total of four people employed at the children's hospital at Akademiska in Uppsala are suspected of having been poisoned at work in October and November. The first case of illness occurred on October 25.
The female suspect was arrested on Friday, December 5th.
