The former NATO chief is now speaking to Norwegian television for the first time about the pressure on Norway to use its oil fund as collateral for the multi-billion dollar loan that the EU Commission wants to give to Ukraine, using frozen Russian state assets.
"It has been suggested that Norway would guarantee the entire amount. That is not the case. But whether we can contribute - we will have to look at that when we see the proposal," Stoltenberg told NRK .
Stoltenberg is in Brussels on Wednesday to meet with EU Commissioners Maros Sefcovic and Valdis Dombrovskis. On Thursday, he will also meet with EU finance ministers at an EU-EFTA meeting.
