Last term, Stockholm Region had a minority government consisting of the Social Democrats, the Centre Party and the Green Party, in collaboration with the Left Party.
Now it is clear that the Social Democrats, the Centre Party and the Green Party have instead turned to the Christian Democrats and the Liberals.
In a comment to TT, Finance Region Commissioner Aida Hadzialic (Social Democrats) writes that she is pleased the five parties have begun negotiations “to create a robust government for the upcoming term” and that talks have been held with many different parties since the election.
Anna Sehlin, the Left Party’s group leader in the region, tells the newspaper Mitt i that she sees it as a “huge betrayal” of voters who expected more left-wing politics in Stockholm.
