At the top of the list OMXS30 with the most traded shares was the telecom company Tele2, which rose 3 percent after the bank UBS raised its recommendation for the share to buy from previously sell.
Also, the telecom company Ericsson rose 2.4 percent. Further on the list of large companies, the major banks Swedbank, SEB, Handelsbanken, and Nordea rose between 1.6 and 2.1 percent.
At the bottom of OMXS30 was found the heat pump manufacturer Nibe, down 1 percent.
Among the losers was also Volvo Cars, which fell back 0.6 percent after the company released sales figures for July, which showed a decline of 14 percent compared to last year. The network casino developer Evolution lost 0.5 percent.
The appliance giant Electrolux fell 1.8 percent after a lowered credit rating from the credit rating agency S&P.
Also on the continent, there were mostly cheerful faces. At the close in Stockholm, the Frankfurt stock exchange had risen 1.3 percent, while the Paris stock exchange and the London stock exchange were up 1.1 and 0.6 percent, respectively.
The Zurich stock exchange recovered some of the morning's decline and fell 0.2 percent.
