At the close at 1 pm, the Stockholm Stock Exchange's broad OMXS index had fallen by 0.3 percent. The leading stock exchanges in Europe also fell early in the afternoon.
The strongest among the major companies in Stockholm was defense conglomerate Saab, which was up 2.5 percent. Close behind were household appliance giant Electrolux and bearing manufacturer SKF, both up 0.9 percent.
On the minus side was real estate company SBB, which fell 4.5 percent after several days of gains. Mining company Boliden also closed down, minus 2.3 percent.
Wall Street appears to be losing the upward momentum that concluded Tuesday's trading. The S&P 500 is down 0.1 percent, while the Nasdaq is unchanged.
Later this evening, after the close on Wall Street, chip giant Nvidia will present its quarterly report. It is one of the "magnificent seven", which, due to its size, now dominates the stock market. After two and a half hours of trading in New York, Nvidia's share had risen 0.2 percent.
One dollar costs 9.65 kronor and one euro 10.89 kronor.
The leading stock exchanges also fell. At the close, Frankfurt had fallen 0.7 percent, while London had fallen 0.6 percent and Paris 0.5 percent.
