Stockholm Stock Exchange Sees Slight September Uptick

The Stockholm stock exchange started September slightly up. The broad OMXS index closed at 0.2 percent.

At the top of the OMXS30 list with the most traded shares were the major bank Nordea and the engineering company Atlas Copco, with increases of 1.6 and 1.4 percent respectively.

Also SEB and Swedbank climbed clearly, up 1.3 and 0.9 percent.

The engineering company ABB weighed down with a loss of 1.3 percent.

The Swedish krona strengthened against the dollar. At the close of trading in Stockholm, one dollar cost 9.38 kronor. The dollar has not been this weak since the spring of 2022.

In the USA, the stock exchanges are closed on Monday due to a public holiday.

The silver price rose to over 40 dollars per ounce for the first time since 2011. The gold price is also rising and is close to its highest level.
