Four straight days of decline on the Stockholm stock exchange became five. At the close, the broad OMXS index was 0.8 percent down.

The negative trend accelerated during the late afternoon.

Only four stocks on the OMXS30 list with the most traded rose. The worst was the online casino company Evolution, down 3.6 percent. This after the company received a lawsuit in California.

Also, the heat pump manufacturer Nibe and the measurement technology company Hexagon had a tough day with declines of 2.2 and 2 percent, respectively.

Against the trend were the telecom operators Tele2 and Telia - up 1 and 0.5 percent, respectively, as well as the tissue paper company Essity, which rose 0.3 percent. All three are companies that usually go up when the market goes down.

Today's inflation figure from the US was in line with market expectations and did not make the Stockholm stock exchange react clearly.

Among the smaller companies, the education company Academedia released its annual report and proposes, among other things, an increased dividend compared to the previous year. The stock rose 0.8 percent.

A dollar costs 9.48 kronor on the currency market, while a euro costs 11.08 kronor.

At the close in Stockholm, it was also sour on the leading European stock exchanges in Frankfurt, London, and Paris. The same trend, but even more pronounced, is shown by the leading indexes on Wall Street in New York.

With Friday's decline, the Stockholm stock exchange has fallen 2.4 percent during the week in total.
