The comparison was made by the comparison service Zmarta based on housing advertisements on the Qasa marketplace.
Not surprisingly, Stockholm is the most expensive city, where a one-bedroom apartment costs an average of more than 8,500 kronor per month, compared with 5,400 kronor in Umeå.
Based on price per square metre, Lund and Gävle recorded the biggest rent increases, 13.3 and 12.1 percent respectively over one year.
In one place, however, Eskilstuna, the price per square metre has actually fallen, by 3.9 percent.
