The police's list of HVB homes with criminal connections remains secret for Stockholm City. This is clear since the Supreme Administrative Court has decided not to grant leave to appeal for the city's appeal.
It was in August last year that the police published a report stating that 18 HVB homes in Sweden are run by criminal individuals. Stockholm City requested the list, but was denied by the police, citing that the information is covered by secrecy.
The decision was appealed by the social committee in Stockholm to the administrative court, which dismissed the appeal. That decision now stands firm since the Supreme Administrative Court has announced that it will not take up the case.
Alexander Ojanne (S), social and security councillor in Stockholm City, says in a comment to TT that it is a "systemic failure" when municipalities that place children and young people do not receive necessary information about where they can make "safe and secure placements".
