It's a roller coaster ride in the financial markets. The oil price has fallen back a few dollars to $96.70 this morning, and the Stockholm Stock Exchange is heading for a green opening after pulling back yesterday.
On the war front, the ceasefire remains fragile ahead of peace talks between Iran and the US this weekend, and the Strait of Hormuz, through which around 20 percent of the world's oil and gas transport passes, remains effectively closed.
In Asia, the major stock markets rose overnight. Tokyo is up 1.9 percent this morning, local time in Sweden.
US stock markets ended Thursday's trading in the red, and futures point to small moves when regular trading on Wall Street begins this afternoon.
