Steel conglomerate SSAB has secured financing of an additional 430 million euro to support its transition project in Luleå, the company writes in a press release.
The project involves the establishment of an electric steel mill, which, among other things, is intended to reduce the group's costs for carbon dioxide emissions.
The latest financing is supported by the German export credit agency Euler Hermes and complements previous support from the Riksgälden, the Italian export credit agency SACE, and the Nordic Investment Bank, according to the press release.
SSAB's investment of 4.5 billion euro in the new steel mill in Luleå was announced in 2024.
