The two largest union confederations, UGT and CCOO, are behind the strike, aiming to put housing and wages on the agenda.
The unions are urging people to “mobilize for better wages, decent housing and price controls to combat inflation, which is eroding our purchasing power,” according to a statement.
New elections will be held in Spain on November 29, after the government failed to pass its proposals to address the country’s housing crisis.
