The intense civil conflict in South Sudan threatens to escalate when the country's military demands that the UN, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and other aid organizations leave the Jonglei region.
At least 280,000 people have already fled the region during the ongoing fighting that intensified in December.
Opposition forces control the town of Akobo in Jonglei; around 100 UN peacekeepers and a Red Cross hospital are also there.
The military says the town is the target of the next "offensive."
The warring factions in South Sudan align with arch-rivals Riek Machar, the vice president, and President Salva Kiir.
