When President Trump returned home from the NATO summit in Ankara in July, there was immediate controversy because he travelled on an older Air Force One plane, not the donated aircraft from Qatar that he arrived on.
Now comes the next twist. After the president boarded the older plane in front of the world's press, he was smuggled onto a third one in a food truck, anonymous sources told the Washington Post.
The journalists and staff who remained believed the president was still on board, according to the newspaper. According to the source, the plan was put into action because of a “credible threat involving Iran.”
The White House has not commented on the information.
