The woman was found dead near Kyiv on Monday evening, Ukrainian Pravda reports. She had gunshot wounds to the head.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder, Ukrainian police announced on Telegram.
According to the SBU security service, the woman was shot dead by an agent from the country's intelligence service, HUR, with the help of a former police officer. The intelligence officer is said to have confessed to the murder and claimed that he acted on his own initiative, without informing his superiors.
Both men came to the attention of Ukrainian authorities after they transferred cryptocurrency to the woman, the SBU writes in a press release.
