Already earlier on Thursday, P4 Värmland reported that a private jet of the same model as the one David Beckham used during his visit to "Svennis" last summer was planned to land at an airport in Värmland later in the day.
And shortly after 5 pm, the private plane touched down at Karlstad airport, according to several media outlets. A handful of children and young people had gathered at the airport to catch a glimpse of the former midfielder, but 49-year-old Beckham quickly slipped out of the plane and disappeared from sight.
David Beckham was the captain of the English national team when Sven-Göran Eriksson was the national team coach and visited Torsby already last summer.
He came with six liters of wine with dates that were important to me, said Eriksson to P4 Värmland.
It was, among other things, wine from 1948 – the year Eriksson was born, 1982 when he won the Uefa Cup with IFK Göteborg, and 2000 when he won the Italian league with Lazio.
David Beckham wrote on Instagram about his visit to the seriously ill cancer-stricken football coach:
"We laughed, we cried, and we knew we said goodbye," wrote Beckham on Instagram about the visit in Värmland.
Sven-Göran Eriksson will be buried in Torsby on Friday morning, and several guests arrived with private jets on Thursday.
Legendary coach Roy Hodgson arrived with the same plane as David Dein, former high-ranking official within the English Football Association, and was received by "Svennis" son Johan Eriksson.
He has meant a lot to Swedish football. An honor to be able to come to his funeral, even though it's a sad day, not just for me but for many others around the world and in Torsby where he was born, says Hodgson according to Värmlands Folkblad.
