After a meeting on Sunday, the countries have agreed to move their soldiers to other positions to reduce the risk of new confrontations.
Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra writes on X that the discussions will continue on June 14.
Since 2008, there have been sporadic acts of violence, in which at least 28 people have been killed, at the border between the countries.
