He thoroughly enjoyed himself in royal company when Linn Svahn, Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist won the sprint triple in Val di Fiemme.
Then he hurried to Cortina and, despite the traffic on the narrow roads, arrived in time to watch the mixed doubles curling final.
Isabella and Rasmus Wranå did not disappoint him. A long day was rounded off with a second gold celebration.
"Fantastic. I don't know Olympic history, but I wonder if we've won four medals on the same day. It may have happened, but not as I remember," says Joulamo.
Will the medal goal be broken?
SOK has set a target of 15 medals for the Games. He, as head, may have reason to revise that figure, but he has not, not yet.
"We have had a better return than we could have expected in the first few days, but there is still a lot to do. We hope to break the medal goal. If we continue at this pace, we will beat the goal, but we cannot take that for granted," he says.
It feels like we've hit our stride in several sports. The women's distance skiers have won five of six medals. We can only hope that it continues. It's an extremely good start. A good start is very useful for the future. It gives a boost to those who are entering the competition now.
Impressed by the curling
Joulamo is impressed by curling's steady medal deliveries from Olympics to Olympics.
"Curling is strong at the elite level. They invest large resources. We invest large resources. They are easy to work with, responsive and work in the way we often want to see in an association."
An example?
Yes, I absolutely think so. It's order and structure and a positive elite culture. We hope that the results will have an effect on the number of players, that more people will start, says Joulamo.
He himself was taken by the drama in the final against the USA.
It was a thrilling game. Nervous at the end, of course, but it felt like they had it. Isabella doesn't miss many stones like that, but it was definitely a high-paced game, says Fredrik Joulamo.
