Södertälje first to blow away Björklöven

Södertälje became the first in Hockey Allsvenskan to snatch all three points in Umeå. SSK won the top meeting over Björklöven with 5–4. Former Björklöven player Nicolai Meyer was in focus.

The 31-year-old Danish forward scored 3-3 and delivered an opening pass to Egor Polin's 5-3 goal in numerical superiority.

After his 3-3 goal, he cheered uncontrollably and was booed by his old home crowd.

There are great fans here, they are passionate, there are a lot of emotions in hockey and that's what I knew, says Meier, formerly of Björklöven, to TV4 Plus.

Series-leading Björklöven was unbeaten at full time on their home ice in Umeå this season. Nine wins and one overtime loss against Nybro was the result.

Now they got zero for the first time. Despite a dream start and 2-0 after 3.16, "Löven" could not extend the streak.

Södertälje scored three straight goals from 2-3 behind and could eventually win 5-4.

It's a tough and rough hockey match and we don't get the start we want. But then we create a lot and are tough to meet. It's strong of us to come up here and win, says Södertälje coach Magnus Bogren.

Södertälje moved up to second place in the table on the same points as leading Björklöven, which, however, has a better goal difference. But also one more game played than SSK.
