If S wins voters' mandate, it wants to toughen its tone against private healthcare providers. Party leader Magdalena Andersson and group leader Lena Hallengren announced this at a press conference on Friday.
The party will prohibit private healthcare providers in publicly funded healthcare from giving priority through private healthcare insurance if patients with greater needs are pushed aside.
The party wants legislation stating that healthcare providers should not mix insurance patients and tax-financed care, and should not give insurance patients priority.
According to figures from Swedish Insurance, which SVT, among others, has previously reported, around 800,000 Swedes have private health insurance.
They could not say how extensive the problem of displacement is at the press conference, but they believe it is a problem that a parallel system is being built.
At the same time, funding for public healthcare has been cut by the Tidö parties. We want healthcare that is so good that no one feels the need for private healthcare insurance, says Magdalena Andersson.
S also wants to abolish the out-of-county fee, known as the online doctor fee.
Online doctor companies should also not be able to maximize their profits by choosing simple visits, says Lena Hallengren.
