Lena Hallengren believes that it is a matter that the Public Health Agency needs to look at, and mentions, among other things, vaccines against RS virus and chickenpox.
There are children who are hospitalized during the winter half-year who would not need to. One would save both their suffering and on healthcare if one vaccinated against RS, says Hallengren and continues:
Chickenpox should be included promptly.
The vaccine protection for the elderly and people in risk groups should also be reviewed, according to Hallengren, who mentions that it can cost a lot for a private person to vaccinate themselves against influenza, shingles and TBE.
It costs more than it had to do if we had organized this together, she says.
The party therefore also wants to review the market itself, even if Hallengren does not want to go as far as to ban private actors.
But we believe that the vaccine market that we have seen emerge would need to change. Vaccines have come to be a cost issue and a class issue for many, she says.
The Social Democrats also want to introduce a vaccination register so that it becomes easier for people to keep track of which vaccines they have taken.
