The fact is that in our country, those who work the most years also risk getting a low pension, she says before the May 1st speech in Folkets Park in Malmö.

The reform proposal, which goes by the name "worker's pension", means that the pension should not only be based on lifetime income, but also on the number of years worked. But what this will mean for pensioners is something that needs to be investigated, as well as how it will be financed.

At the same time, she launches the idea that those who have worked long at the end of their working life should be able to reduce their work hours without affecting their pension. Andersson calls it "a respect reform".

— When you have worked a certain number of years, sometime after 40 years, we think it's reasonable that you should be able to reduce your work hours to cope with the final years without it affecting your pension. It's a matter of fairness and respect for those who work and struggle very many years in their working life, says Andersson.

Talkör and climate activists

During her May 1st speech, she initially has to shout over a talkör" chanting "Free Palestine". Climate activists are also competing for attention.

Andersson highlights the difficult situation in Gaza and demands that the Swedish government raises its voice.

The last 50 days, Israel has blocked humanitarian aid from entering Gaza while the bombings have continued.

This is unreasonable, unacceptable, and despicable.

The EU's trade agreement with Israel should be frozen and the sanctions should be expanded, demands the S leader.

She accuses the government and the supporting party SD of passivity in an uncertain time when Sweden needs to be prepared.

We must prepare Sweden at a furious pace. We must be ready to act to protect Swedish households and Swedish jobs.

New approach

Against gang crime, a completely new approach is required, a new mafia legislation that goes harder on the gangs' money and puts the gang leaders, she believes.

At the same time, the S leader points out that recruitment to criminal gangs should be stopped:

Mark every single young guy on the slide if necessary, she says, and simultaneously points out that gang criminals should not be able to run HVB homes and use them as recruitment bases.

This cannot be a question of right or left. It's about common sense. Gang criminals do not belong in Swedish welfare.
