The Social Democrats promise to automatically increase state subsidies to municipalities in line with inflation if they are allowed to govern after the election this fall.

- There will be an end to automatic cuts, says the S leader at a press conference together with the LO union's Kommunal chairwoman Malin Ragnegård.

“Inflation adjustment is a bottom line,” says Andersson, adding that more resources are needed than such a cost-based increase would provide.

One source of revenue could be a tax increase for the richest, according to the S leader. She emphasizes that the party does not intend to propose any tax increases for ordinary wage earners.

The party wants to invest in improving staff skills and welcomes the government's proposal for a language requirement.

- But the requirement would also need funding for training, says the S leader.
