Today, only half of all cancer patients receive care within the time specified by the care targets, according to S. The party wants all patients to receive assessment and treatment within the targets.
However, S cannot say how much money it wants to invest to cut the queues.
"Exactly how much we spend specifically on healthcare or cancer care is not what we are announcing today. Instead, we are announcing a different way of working, a different long-term perspective and increased state control," says S leader Magdalena Andersson.
Nor can S give a clear target for when the queues will be gone.
There will be substantial steps during the next term, says the S leader.
The plan should contain interim goals for all regions to improve their results each year.
