In the Netherlands, around 800 flights to and from Amsterdam were canceled on Wednesday, De Telegraaf newspaper reports. Several hundred flights were canceled earlier this week.
At Schiphol Airport, tent beds and breakfast have been offered to over a thousand travelers who were forced to stay overnight due to canceled flights.
Around 40 flights to and from Brussels were canceled, while the figure for Paris was 140.
Stuck in Paris
In Paris, among those affected is a couple from Canada who have experienced snowstorms and delays on both sides of the Atlantic since Sunday.
On Monday morning, they were supposed to fly to Toronto, then to Amsterdam, and then to Malta. But the flight to Amsterdam was canceled. Instead, they were rebooked to Paris.
And then you would think we would finally get to Malta, but don't you think there's a snowstorm in Paris, jokes Jacquie McGurran when TT's reporter meets them at Charles de Gaulle airport.
Cancelled trains
Despite the setbacks, the couple is in good spirits. A three-month vacation awaits them in Malta.
"So we're not in a hurry. But we're exhausted," says John McGurran.
The snow has also led to canceled trains between Belgium and the Netherlands, stationary buses in major cities and a halt to heavy trucks entering France.
