With temperatures expected to rise to around 20 degrees from north to south, Monday will be warm in almost the entire country.
At the same time, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) announces that there is a widespread risk of forest fires from Skåne up to Västernorrland. In Västra Götaland, the risk of forest fires is extremely high in several places.
It has been dry for a longer period, so you need to be aware that fires easily arise and spread, says Linus Falk at SMHI.
Where the risks have decreased
Southern Skåne, parts of Småland, Öland, and Gotland are exempt from the warnings, according to SMHI.
We see that the weekend's rain has dampened the forest fire risks, says Linus Falk.
In the snow-free areas of Norrland, SMHI also warns of grass fires – and after the warm Monday, the fire warnings are likely to remain in place even on Tuesday.
SMHI urges private persons to keep themselves updated on any eventual fire prohibitions.
"Under control"
In Hylte, Halland, a fire has been raging since Friday in a peat bog. A VMA, important message to the public, was issued but later revoked.
Now the rescue service is worried about how the heat will affect the fire.
It is under control but very dry and a strong wind. Our aim is that it should stay within the area that is burning now and not spread further, says Peter Karlborg, duty officer at the rescue service, to SVT Halland.
