The 46-year-old Slot received a red card shortly after the final whistle when a tumult arose between the teams two weeks ago. He allegedly said something to the referee in connection with the handshake. Everton equalized to 2-2 in stoppage time in the 98th minute at Goodison Park.
Since then, there have been several bids regarding whether Slot would be suspended or not. Already the day after the chaotic match, the Premier League announced that he would be suspended for two matches. However, that statement was withdrawn, and Slot has led the league leaders in the team's three latest league matches.
Now, it is clear that he will miss Wednesday's home match against Newcastle and the meeting with Southampton on March 8. Slot will, however, be allowed to lead the team in the first Champions League round-of-16 match away against Paris Saint-Germain in a week.
