During the weekend, a comprehensive rain area will move in over the country and head east.
The rain will affect almost the entire country. The problem is that in the central and northern parts, there are minus degrees on the road surfaces, so the rain may freeze and become slippery, says Emma Härenstam, meteorologist at SMHI.
She also says that there are indications of undercooled rain.
According to SMHI, there may be sudden slippery roads in, among other places, the northern parts of Värmland, parts of Dalarna, and parts of western Norrland. A yellow warning applies from 5 pm on Saturday to 5 am on Sunday morning.
On Sunday, it is expected to become very slippery in the eastern parts of Norrland and down towards Dalarna. A warning has been issued and applies from 1 am to 2 pm.
SMHI also warns of sudden slippery roads in parts of Ångermanland, northeastern Jämtland, and southern Västerbotten on Saturday. A yellow warning applies from 4 am to 4 pm.
SMHI has three levels of weather warnings:
Yellow warning: Consequences for society, some risks for the general public.
Orange warning: Serious consequences for society, danger for the general public.
Red warning: Very serious consequences for society, great danger for the general public.
