The Ski World Championship had before the championship calculated a surplus of 15-20 million kronor, but instead backed down with 37 million.

Since then, the threat that over 100 creditors risked being completely without money if the company went bankrupt has loomed. But it does not seem to be the case as the company and the creditors have now reached an agreement.

According to, among other things, NRK, all creditors with loans of over 40,000 Norwegian kronor, equivalent to about 39,000 Swedish, will receive payment of just under 60 percent of their money. Those who lent under 40,000 will get back the entire amount.

The creditors had until 16.00 on Wednesday to decide whether they would accept the proposal. If one of them had not approved the proposal, the Ski World Championship would still risk going bankrupt.

The World Championship company is owned 60 percent by the Norwegian Ski Association and 30 percent by the lower organizational level Sør-Trøndelags ski district. The last 10 percent is owned by Trondheim municipality.
