The goals fell like spring rain in Malmö Arena - especially in the first period.
The first period produced eight goals, four for each team.
A continuation of eight goals per period would have set a new SHL record. The highest-scoring game in the SHL was 23 goals: Färjestad's 14-9 win against Djurgården in 1978.
But the pace of scoring slowed.
Malmö's Carl Persson scored two goals and gave the home team a 6-5 lead heading into the final period.
However, league-leading Skellefteå had not given up. Two power-play goals in the final period - from Jonathan Johnsson and Rickard Hugg - turned the match around; Hugg scored twice.
