Despite the club winning its first Swedish Championship gold in handball ever, the recent time has been uncertain for Skara HF.
The Swedish champions are entitled to a place in the European League, the second-highest division for international club team handball in Europe, but economic question marks have made Skara hesitant for a long time about whether they can participate or not.
But now the Västergötland club can breathe a sigh of relief.
On the club's website, they confirm that they have said yes and that the association has received enough money to cover the costs. According to the club, the European games will cost "close to one million kronor".
The financial support comes mainly from sponsors, but the player squad has also contributed.
"The players have made a brilliant effort by collecting contributions and overall, we can say that it is a real team effort that makes it possible for us to play in Europe", says the association's chairman Håkan Persson to the club's website and continues:
"That we together have managed to find economic solutions that make it possible for the small association Skara HF to say yes to a place in the European games is unique. A big thank you to everyone who has been involved and contributed!"
