Skandiabanken Offers Lowest Mortgage Rates in August

The average interest rate for variable-rate mortgages was 2.85 percent in August, shows a review from the comparison service Zmarta.

Skandiabanken Offers Lowest Mortgage Rates in August

In the comparison, 13 banks are included and in July the corresponding figure was 2.84 percent.

The lowest interest rate last month had Skandiabanken, where the average interest rate during the month was 2.73 percent.

The highest was Ica-banken with an average three-month interest rate of 2.95 percent, followed by Nordea and Hypoteket which both had an average interest rate of 2.90 percent.

Since the peak in December 2023, the mortgage interest rate has fallen by 1.94 percentage points. According to Zmarta, this means a saving of around 19,400 kronor per year for every million borrowed.

Handelsbanken: 2.83 percent

Landshypotek: 2.76 percent

Skandiabanken: 2.73 percent

For Danske Bank, Stabelo and Ikano Bank, data is missing for August.
