"Night train services to and from northern Sweden and Norway have an important function for both Swedish and international travelers. Demand is very high, and increasing," says SJ CEO Jonas Abrahamsson in a statement.
The contract ensures daily round trips on the Stockholm–Narvik and Stockholm–Umeå routes, with the option of couchettes and sleeping cars unchanged.
SJ has been operating the night trains since December 2024. Before that, Norwegian Vy Tåg had the contract for the routes.
