The floods in Västernorrland have stopped the train traffic and now SJ announces that they are cancelling all traffic on several routes, writes Tidningen Ångermanland.

The train company states that the cancelled traffic applies until and including Thursday, September 11.

We do not get enough buses to replace all trains, says Ronny Hörstrand at SJ's press office to the newspaper.

According to SJ, the trains that are usually used on the route are stuck in Umeå.

Therefore, we cannot proceed with the passengers from Sundsvall. We do not have that many extra trains, says Hörstrand.

If the train stop is not lifted by Friday, September 12, additional departures may be cancelled.

The affected routes are:

Sundsvall C–Umeå C/Umeå C–Sundsvall C (SJ Express Train).

Stockholm C–Luleå–Narvik/Narvik–Luleå–Stockholm C (SJ Night Train).

Norrtåg also cancels several departures on the Umeå–Sundsvall route.
