Six people are sentenced to prison for violent rioting in connection with the Eritrean cultural festival at Järvafältet in the summer of 2023, reports P4 Stockholm.

Five of the individuals are sentenced to five months in prison, while a sixth is sentenced to six months in prison.

The festival is arranged annually by individuals who are said to support the Eritrean regime. However, in the summer of 2023, the event degenerated when hundreds of regime-critical demonstrators stormed the festival.

Stones and other objects were thrown, and tents and cars were set on fire. Over 50 people were injured and nearly 140 people were detained.
