The Minister for Social Affairs, Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M), tells Ekot that the agency must stay one step ahead as gangs constantly find new ways to recruit children.

Illegal influence, such as threats, violence, harassment, bribery, and infiltration, must be prevented and countered in various ways, she says.

According to the Minister for Social Affairs, the networks are now focusing specifically on recruiting children and young people with diagnoses.

Last spring, a new law was introduced that restricts mobile phone use in Sis homes to make it more difficult for criminal networks to, for example, free children and young people. Now, the agency is being urged to take further steps to increase security. Proposals for measures will be presented in the spring of 2026.
