Johanna Hagström roared in a highly dramatic final in the ski World Cup sprint in Trondheim. I'm in shock, says the 27-year-old, who won ahead of her national team mates Emma Ribom and Linn Svahn.

Sprint queen Jonna Sundling, who has three World Championship gold medals and one Olympic gold medal in individual sprinting on her list of achievements, finished fourth in a chaotic final in Trondheim.

A bit into the final, German Laura Gimmler flipped and caught Svahn in the fall. Sundling also had problems with a broken pole.

After the incident, Hagström was able to ride to victory in his own majesty and Ribom was an equally clear second. Behind him, Svahn managed to come back and squeeze into third place.

"I heard someone scream at the top, but I didn't realize they were falling until they slid past me. Then I didn't dare look back. I just kept driving," Hagström tells Viaplay.

Just over a year ago, Hagström took the first World Cup victory of her career when she won the sprint premiere in Ruka, Finland. She now has two victories on her list of achievements.

"It means a lot. I'm a little moved. I don't think I've understood it yet," says Hagström.

Kristine Stavås Skidstad – World Cup runner-up behind Sundling in Trondheim in February – sent a pass to the Swedes last weekend when she won in Ruka ahead of Sundling, Maja Dahlqvist and Hagström.

Now the Norwegian disappeared in the quarterfinals on home soil.
