It was an individual start, and Jutterdal, who is not part of any long-distance team, finished first. He was just over 22 seconds ahead of second-place Elias Andersson at the finish line and a full 2 minutes, 6 seconds ahead of third-place Johan Tjelle of Norway.
"This is the course of my life," says Jutterdal.
Skiing talent Alvar Myhlback, an Olympic sprinter and last year's Vasaloppet winner, finished eighth (+3:46) and was frustrated afterwards. He complained about the conditions on the tracks.
"If you start first you go fast; if you start far back you don't go as fast. It won't be a 'fair' race," the 19-year-old told SVT.
