It was a completely new ski and a completely new plate. The binding was too high on both skis, says the person responsible for the testing in Viaplay's broadcast.
The fact that the skis were completely new likely means that it wasn't a deliberate cheat, but rather carelessness from Hector and the serviceman not to measure the binding height before the start of the competition.
There is a maximum height for the binding to ensure fair conditions among the skiers. The higher the binding is, the easier it is for the skier to angle the skis without losing grip in the turns.
Hector had the third-best time in the first run, 48 hundredths behind leading Mikaela Shiffrin, before she was disqualified.
Instead, Anna Swenn Larsson became the best Swedish skier. After the first run, she was eighth, but in the second run, the 33-year-old climbed further and finished in fourth place, just three hundredths behind the podium, precisely by Shiffrin.
The winner was instead Katharina Truppe, after a super run in the second. Also, the second place was Austrian, in the form of Katharina Liensberger.
Cornelia Öhlund became 13th and Hanna Aronsson Elfman finished in 16th place.
