After broad gains on Thursday, stock markets in Asia are heading down again – with a warning.
The Kospi in South Korea has seen a significant rise over the past year, but on Friday it had one of its worst days of the period. Shortly after lunch, local time, the index was down 3.6 percent.
The Tokyo stock market also fell on Friday. The Nikkei 225 is down 2.1 percent, and the technology-heavy investment company Softbank continues to plummet after selling its stake in chipmaker Nvidia a few weeks ago. On Friday, the company is down a whopping 10.4 percent.
The Shenzhen and Shanghai stock exchanges in China are also not having a particularly good trading day. The former index is down 2.7 percent while Shanghai is down 1.9 percent.
The Hong Kong-based Hang Seng is down 2.1 percent.
