At least 13 people have been killed in clashes in the city of Nahuala in Guatemala.
Tensions have been rising in the area, which is located about 150 kilometers west of the capital Guatemala City. On Sunday, Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo declared a state of emergency.
The background is a long-running border conflict between Nahuala and the nearby community of Santa Catarina Ixtahuacan.
