The last surviving hostages have been handed over from terrorist-stamped Hamas in Gaza by the Red Cross. Seven of them were released at 7 am on Monday morning and a few hours later the remaining 13 were released.
What condition they are in after two years of captivity is still unclear, but medical personnel are present throughout the journey.
The hostages are now being taken to a military base on Israeli soil where their families are waiting. On site, there is also a welcome package from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office containing, among other things, clothes, a phone, and a computer. After that, they will be taken by helicopter to a hospital in Tel Aviv for medical examination.
Some of these are said to have already reached their families via video calls from Gaza before the trip to Israel began.
The release of the hostages is taking place in exchange for over 1,900 Palestinians being held prisoner in Israel. The exchange is the first phase of the US peace plan for the war in Gaza.
