The positive forecast was that Kulusevski would be back in group training in December. The latest news about national team midfielder Dejan Kulusevski: his comeback will take about a month.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank revealed at a press conference that Kulusevski had to take an injection to relieve pain in the knee he had surgery on in May.

"We know it's a complicated injury. If there's one person who can speed up the recovery, it's Dejan. He's a top professional with a top mentality," Tottenham coach Thomas Frank told the club'swebsite.

"The most important thing is to get the pain out of his knee. That's why he got an injection to help with that. We'll know in 3-4 weeks if it's gone. And when it's gone, hopefully he'll be on the field and from there we'll see what happens."

National teammate Lucas Bergvall was forced to withdraw from Wednesday night's league match against Bournemouth.

"An assessment will be made later today. We will know more then," says Thomas Frank.

Sweden will play the World Cup playoffs at the end of March. The semi-final against Ukraine will be played in Valencia on March 26. National team captain Graham Potter spoke about Kulusevski on TV4 Football Channel in December.

"He's on his way back and he's in a good place, but when you're close you can have setbacks and you can have frustrating days when things don't go your way because it's a long process. He's in good spirits and in a good place, and is desperate to come back and help."
