Iran is estimated to have nearly 275 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent, according to the latest quarterly report from the IAEA, which several media outlets have accessed. This is an increase of over 92 kilograms since the last report was written in November. The increase is "seriously worrying", the organization writes in the report.

In December, Tehran announced plans to increase production of highly enriched uranium to 60 percent, which is a short step from the 90-percent level required to manufacture nuclear weapons. Iran is the only state without nuclear weapons that enriches uranium to 60 percent, according to the IAEA.

Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew the USA from an agreement with Tehran in 2015 during his first term as president. The agreement involved sanctions relief in exchange for limitations on Iran's nuclear program. Since then, several alarms have been raised that Iran is on its way to manufacturing nuclear weapons – something the regime in Tehran denies.

On Monday, new talks were held between Iran and Germany, France, and the UK about Iran's nuclear energy program.

On Tuesday, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and stated that Iran will move forward on the nuclear energy issue "in cooperation and coordination with our friends in Russia and China".

Araghchi also dismissed direct talks with the USA on the issue and said that Iran will never negotiate under pressure, threats, or sanctions.
