Representatives of Iran and the three leading European countries, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, are holding talks about Iran's nuclear energy program behind closed doors. The talks in Geneva are being held ahead of Donald Trump's takeover of the presidency in the USA.
The parties, where the three European countries are referred to as E3, are even secretive about the points on the agenda.
"They discussed issues of mutual interest, including negotiations on lifting sanctions, the question of nuclear energy, and the worrying situation in the region," reported the Iran-controlled news agency Isna, citing Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi.
The meeting between the parties was the second in as many months.
